Shaw House Summer Fair 2015

The Shaw House Summer Fair is a buzzing community event hosted by West Berkshire Council and set in the beautiful grounds of Shaw House, an important local Grade 1 listed Elizabethan building whose past is an integral and important part of the Newbury's history.

In 2015's helping of the Summer Fair over 2,000 people rolled up to enjoy the multitudes of stalls and attractions and of course the grounds which looked stunning in the wonderful sunshine. Dragonfly Rhythms were back at the event for a second time, to provide a music backdrop to the whole day.

We met lots of lovely people and were so pleased to be back and part of this great event again - massive thanks and appreciation goes out to everyone who helps to make it so successful - and thank you to the scout club and Mr Muddles for lending us your tent pegs!!

Thank you to those of you who sent us photos after the event which allowed us to put together this album, not least Paul and Alan from the Thatcham Photographic Club, it was lovely to meet you!

The Wedding of Gemma and Anthony

Gemma and Anthony invited Dragonfly Rhythms to play classical guitar outside of their wedding chapel. It was a beautiful day and the guitar created a relaxing ambiance as the guests waited for the bride to arrive.

The father of the bride asked for a cheeky bit of Rock n Roll thrown in; probably the first time Chuck Berry has been played in such a stunning setting!

Rewind Boogie Night! 70's, 80's, 90's Theme Night

The new Hungerford Village Hall was the setting for a Rewind Boogie Night and Dragonfly Rhythms tailored the live sets to play music from the 70's, 80's and 90's and likewise with the DJ set - the clocks were reeeeewound back to those golden days and all those memorable classic hits had the dance floor filled all night long!

Party On The Pitch 2015

Newbury Fest is back this Summer and in 2015 it's bigger and better than ever! The festivities opened at the Newbury Rugby Club with Party on the Pitch, a day of live music, games, displays, food and drinks.

Dragonfly Rhythms took to the stage in the blazing afternoon sunshine, joined by the King of the Skins himself, Malc on drums and percussion.

A massive thank you to Memory Lane Photographers for the fab photos, we highly recommend them!

The 2012 Countdown To Christmas

On Friday 16th November, Steve Randall and The Breeze introduced a spectacular event that brought festive cheer to the Andover High Street. There were rides for the children, stilt walking Snowmen and a non-stop programme of live music including a 20 minute set from Dragonfly Rhythms which included the Christmas songs: Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt and Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas.

Santa took a break from his busy schedule to join in with the celebrations and appeared on stage alongside the Chantry Centre Bear. The event was attended by an estimated 8,000 people and climaxed with a firework display and the turning on of the Christmas lights.

The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Jamboree

What a fantastic day this turned out to be! - All week we had been promised horrible weather and heavy rain all day but come Sunday lunch time the sun decided to shine on all of us and a wonderful day was had by everyone!

Andover was a great example of what was happening all up and down the country as we all paid our respects to the Queen and her 60 years of reign by doing what us Brits know best... partying!

In true British style the bunting was hung all over the park, and even on the Dragonfly acoustic guitar. There were games, crafts, food stands, a zoo and a bar, and countless other things to entertain the masses, not least the live music...

Ten Green Bottles, Leigh-on-Sea

It is always great fun to join in on open-mic nights and this one has got to be up there. The Ten Green Bottles is a very popular venue and well known for it's live music: a cosy little bar but this doesn't stop the punters from squeezing in to hear the various duets and solo artists playing their part in the evening's entertainment.

It was a kind invitation from long time fan, Kerryn that brought us to this beautiful seaside town "Happy Birthday Kez!" When we were called up, we invited the amazing house band to join us on renditions of Higher and Higher (Jackie Wilson) and Good Tradition (Tanita Tikaram). It was fantastic to play alongside such great musicians, who joined in straight away and helped us bring the house down!

Bradford on Avon Fringe Festival 2011

After it's opening success in 2010, the Bradford on Avon Fringe Festival was back and bigger and better than before. Held in multiple locations across this picturesque and historical town there was live music, comedy and open mic's amongst the events and The Canal Tavern was the venue for an impromptu Dragonfly Rhythms set!

Picnic in the Park Festival 2011

An afternoon of live music, activities, stalls and workshops was held this Summer at Beech Hurst Park, Andover and hosted by Andover Vision. The rain kept away and picnic blankets were laid out all over the park for a fun and relaxing time enjoyed by families and fun-goers of all ages.

We were delighted to be asked to play on the bandstand alongside some great musicians from the local area. We had a lot of fun performing on stage and really enjoyed the rest of the festival. And as can be seen here, we were very pleased to find ourselves featured in the local rag, the Andover Advertiser later that week!
